2024 Summer Camps
Mid-American Goaltending offers a variety of summer development opportunities for goalies of all ages and experience level. Matt Michno and his staff will provide a fun and focused training environment to give your goalie the tools to prepare for the 2024-25 hockey season with confidence!
Our camp schedules and options vary to give families the flexibility to find a program that is affordable and fits the busy summer work and vacation schedules. Please read below about our Mini, Evening and Full Day Camps to find the right opportunity for your goalie.

These camps are conducted on two separate dates of the same week. Each Mini Camp includes a classroom session to prepare goalies for the skills and game play scenarios featured during the one and a half hour long session. During each session, coaches will record drills and review the video with each goalie individually. These are designed for all ages and experience levels

Evening Camps are four days long and are built for goalies of all ages and experience levels. Every day of the camp there will be an hour and a half long ice session after off-ice training and a video classroom. Off-ice training will focus on hand-eye coordination and foot-speed training while the video session will feature NCAA and NHL clips to help goalies learn how to develop a sustainable and controlled game

These camps are four days in length and feature multiple ice sessions, off-ice training and classroom breakdown. Goalies of all experience levels are eligible to attend but the camp is restricted to goalies 8 years old and up. Our focus for these camps will be increasing a goalie’s ability to process information, read plays longer and control their timing. This will be accomplished through a variety station based and group drills.

Two Day Mini Camp-Blue ($175.50 )
Located at Queen City Sportsplex, our Two Day Mini Camps are designed to fit a busy summer schedule and provide a focused and detailed training option for the off season. Our goalies at the Blue camp will focus on low angle play and momentum control during the on-ice station based training (2:1 goalie to net ratio). Coach Matt Michno will lead all on-ice skates as well as each classroom session. The video broken down during classroom sessions will examine NHL/NCAA clips so your goalie will learn how to most efficiently apply the skills we examine. During each session, goalies will be filmed for our experienced staff to review with the goalies virtually after the completion of the camp. Families will be connected with their assigned video coach to coordinate a date and time to review the video.
All goalies will receive a Mid-American Goaltending jersey, water bottle and helmet decal.
Please note: this camp is two separate dates (August 12th and August 14th)

Payment Options:
Full Payment ($175.50): This payment guarantees a spot in the camp and includes a $50 non-refundable deposit. A refund of the remainder is available upon request if submitted 48 hours prior to check in for the first day of camp
Deposit ($50): The deposit fee will hold a spot for your goalie and is non-refundable. The remaining $125.50 is due by July 29th. If a full payment is not received by July 29th, your goalie’s spot is no longer guaranteed in the camp. Full payments must be made for a goalie to attend the camp.
Cincinnati Evening Camp ($325)
Our Evening Camp will run for four days at Queen City Sportsplex beginning on August 5th. This camp is a launch pad for the rapidly approaching 2024-2025 hockey season! All on-ice sessions will feature station based skill training emphasizing in-tight battle, post play, traffic, redirections and more. Goalies will benefit from a 2:1 goalie to net ratio to maintain high repetition for each participant. Coach Matt Michno will lead each on ice session as well as our video classroom where he will break down NHL/NCAA clips with the intent to grow your goalie’s ability to read complex in-zone plays. This mental skill set will help cement a goalie’s ability to be decisive and feel more confident with their growing set of physical tools.
All goalies will receive a Mid-American Goaltending jersey, water bottle and helmet decal.

Payment Options:

Dayton Full Day Camp ($425)
Our Dayton Full Day Camp will be hosted at South Metro Sportsplex over four consecutive days starting July 29th. This camp will feature multiple ice sessions led by Coach Matt Michno with his experienced staff and shooters. The off-ice content will feature video classroom that visually connects the on-ice skills with NHL/NCAA clips so our goalies can learn how to apply their tools in game play. This camp will feature a variety of on-ice skill sets during our station based training including foundational skating, save structure and tracking. We will also utilize the ice for group skills to give our goalies repetition to improve their edge work, body control and puck handling. Our aim is to build a competitive and fun environment that goalies of all skill levels can excel in.
This camp is fully immersive so we recommend this camp to goalies who have previously attended full day hockey camp and we are limited to 8 years old and up. If you have questions about whether this is the right camp for your goalie, please reach out to Coach Matt (contact)

During each session, goalies will be filmed for our experienced staff to review with the goalies virtually after the completion of the camp. Two Day Mini Camp-Red ($175.50)

Burke Goalie Camp in Traverse City, Michigan
If you’re looking for a unique training experience, head north to Traverse City for Sean Burke’s Valley Goaltending Camp this summer! Coach Matt Michno will be a Guest Coach for the week with their lead instructors Sean Burke (Vegas Golden Knights, NHL), Brendan Burke (Portland Winterhawks, WHL) and Scott Munroe (9 Year Pro Career, NHL/KHL).
